hiv and sti testing

anonymous HIV testing

Planned Parenthood Toronto offers anonymous HIV testing. An anonymous test means that absolutely no one – except you – has access to your test results because your full name is never recorded. When you have your test, you will be given a number code that will be matched with the test results.

We perform two types of HIV tests: one is the Rapid Point-of-Care (POC) test and one is the Standard HIV test. POC testing involves a pin-prick blood sample and is tested on the spot. If the test is non-reactive, you will get your results immediately. With the standard test, we take a vial of your blood and send it off to a lab. You must return, in person, in about 1-2 weeks to get your results, and you will need to bring your number with you to get your results. Both tests are 99.5% accurate.

Anonymous HIV testing is done by appointment on weekdays and drop-in on Saturdays. Learn more.

Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing

We believe that the stigma of having an STI can be worse than the infections themselves. This is why we encourage all of our clients to get tested regularly at our sex-positive, non-judgmental clinic. We offer testing for sexually transmitted infections including but not limited to:

  • Chlamydia – via urine
  • Gonorrhea
  • Molluscum
  • Syphilis
  • Hepatitis B and C
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Herpes and
  • HPV

Testing for these STIs may involve urine tests, blood draws, visual examinations, and/or vaginal, throat, or rectum swabs.

STI testing is done by appointment on weekdays and drop-in on Saturdays. Learn more.
